Founder, Melissa L. Bornstein
I founded Therapy Education Zone, Inc. to provide the most convenient, affordable, and interesting continuing education courses. Home study is a convenient way to receive some of your physical therapy continuing education credits, wherever and whenever you want. Therapy Education Zone courses provide useful information for clinical practice.
Since you may not have time to read all of the latest research, I do it for you and use the study results to support evaluation and treatment guidelines. In addition, clinically-relevant information is provided that is based upon clinical experience. Therapy Education Zone presents information in the most usable format so that clinicians can advance their practice with evidence-based guidelines.
Melissa L. Bornstein, Author
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in psychology from the University of California San Diego and then earned my Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Duke University. I have 15 years of clinical experience, including management and program development. In management, I have run clinics that focused on a biomechanical approach to treatment and patient involvement for optimal results. My clinics have consistently earned high levels of patient satisfaction and top ratings from insurance companies for efficient treatment. I have written the following physical therapy home study courses: A Biomechanical Approach to Cervical Pain, Management of the Sacroiliac Joint, Rehabilitation Concepts for Athletic Knee Injuries, A Modern Approach to Forearm and Wrist Syndromes, The Dynamic Shoulder, Stability Training, Running Rehab, Tennis Rehab, Back on Track: A Low Back Rehabilitation Course, and The Therapist's Guide to Golf Injuries. I have written a physical therapy column for the Rock Springs News and the Altamonte Springs News and have lectured at Professional Golfer's Career College. I currently treat part-time in an orthopaedic setting and am a devoted fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network. I recently volunteered as a physical therapist in a Port-au-Prince hospital with the Haiti earthquake survivors. It was an incredibly rewarding experience.
